Get the Map

Instead of using your new Christmas iPhone or Android as a paperweight you can put it to good use as a tool to explore the ever-changing natural world at Fearrington.

On your phone:
  • Download and install the free Google Earth App

  • In Safari, Navigate to the mobile version of this website - fhaarbor.blogspot.com
  • Look at this same page - Get the Map
  • After reading the instructions, click the walking goat (Henry Castner says it's a cow...) below
  • You will be taken to this page

  • click 'Open in Google Earth'
  • Voila!

  • Click any marker for information
  • Trails are shown as white lines
  • The blue dot is theoretically accurate to 5 feet or so
  • Ready?
  • Click the goat! (only if you are using your phone's browser)

  • Problems?
    • You may need to click the arrow in the lower left to toggle your little blue location
    • If you use Google Earth for some other purpose, you may need to click the goat again
    • If you see two or more identical sets of labels, you've clicked the goat too many times.  Tap the wrench in the lower right, clear the map, try again.
