This is a work in progress. It is intended to be a home for all things natural at Fearrington. The Piedmont of North Carolina is rich in plant and animal life. Many botanical treasures originated in our region, and are now found around the world. William Bartram, famed plant explorer, passed through Pittsboro in 1776. We have so many lovely birds at most times of year.
Since many of us come from away, things may be unfamiliar - here is something to remedy that.
Your ideas and criticisms are welcome! Photos will be posted (they must be taken in Fearrington) Send them to wcreedh@gmail.com.
It would be especially interesting to add something about geology (we are at the edge of a Triassic Basin which is the subject of much interest for gas production), geomorphology, climate, and ecology, so if you would like to write something, let me know.
Wildflowers, Insects, Reptiles, Amphibians, Pests - let's know as much about this place as possible!
